Chapter 6: I've been thinking
By the time they actually prepared to playcards a whole hour had passed. In fact, Mya had to go upstairstwo times to see what was keeping JC. Hed been carried awaywith making drinks, that he made from scratch with strawberries, pineapples, lots of ice, a burst of rum, and a blender. To hersurprise, it was so delicious that she had seconds, thirds, andwas just starting on her forth.
"I guess you like it." JC snickered.
"I do. Very much." She giggledhelplessly over her glass. "If your career ever goes downthe drain, though I doubt it will, you should become a bartender."
"Really."
Mya nodded. "Why arent you drinkingone did you put something in it that I dont know about?"
"No. Im..." He tilted thebottle slightly, "Im fine with regular beer."
"Oh." Mya put down her drink, andgrabbed the deck of cards. "Lets play cards." Sheshuffled the cards effortlessly, once, twice, rearranging them asif she worked in the casino for a living.
"Mya how many times have you been to Vegas?"
"Lots of times." She slapped thecards on the table to align the deck.
"Been to the casino?"
"All the time." Mya flashed a smilebefore lowering her head to sip her drink. "We gonna play alittle different then the casinos though." She bit her liplower lip, leisurely stirring her straw in the glass.
"Oh how?" JC found himself grinning, and grinning hard. But what kind of game was she playing?
"We not playing for money cuz we donneeds it." She drawled.
"Really." She sounds like shesdrunk...and I like it! JC grinned.
"My first winning hand you take off yashirt and so on..."
"Strip poker Mya!" Now he knew shewasnt lying when she said she liked to shock the hell outof people.
Mya giggled like a schoolgirl. "Yeah, whatyou neva playd before?"
"Hell yeah I played Mya but damn..."He shook his head, " Give me your drink? Youve hadenough." JC reached for her cup and she leaned away from him.
"Nooo." Mya cried, moving furtheraway from the table despite the fact that her chair was leaningon only two legs instead of four.
"Mya."
"Leave it alone JC, it done nothinto you. You just mad cuz you don want to strip for me."She slurred laughing, balancing on the two legs of the chair.
"I admit Mya youre very cute,"He paused, then quickly stood up, "like this but-"
JC jumped forward and tried to retrieve thedrink from her grasp but she moved back again, he lost hisbalance and stumbled into her.
"JC!" Mya was trying to regain herbalance as her chair wobbled. She was swaying her arms forwardbut it wasnt working. The chair fell back with her in it.
JC watched the chair hit the floor. Mya rolledaway from it and stretched out across the floor. A few secondslater he heard a sound and her body was shaking.
She was laughing and JC couldnt believeit.
Mya sat up holding her stomach. "Impathetic." She giggled. "And I had too many drinksJaycee."
JC nodded walking over to her. At least she wasaware. "You okay?" He asked softly.
Mya nodded, swaying a little. He figured shewas either dizzy or still very much drunk. He chose the latter.
"You wanna get up?"
Mya glanced over at the chair on the floor. Sheshook her head, "I don wanna."
"Mya come on now." JC started to beg.He wanted to do something responsible for once since he had yetto return her journal after reading it on three occasions already.
"You listen to me." Mya grabbed hiscollar and pulled him to her. "Im not."
"Okay Mya." JC stroked the loose hairaway from her face. He was yearning to kiss her right now. Hecradled her smooth face in his hands and gazed into her softbrown eyes. Her staring back at him was almost his undoing.
Mya giggled. "You wanna kiss me donchaJaycee?"
How many more times was she going to shock thehell out of him? "No," JC stammered over his obviouslie. "I dont want to kiss you."
Who the hell are you trying to fool! Do youthink shes actually going to believe that shit if you canteven look her in the eye without loosing it.
"Yes you do." She was still laughing.
"No Mya. I dont." Lie afterlie. JC could hear his mind condemning him but he wasntgoing to give in to it or the temptation. He knew if he kissedher, things would definitely get out of hand and he would feellike he was taking advantage of her. The fact that she downedmore drinks, which contained lots of rum thanks to him, didnthelp matters either.
JC suddenly realized that he messed himself up.If I hadnt gotten her drunk, we could be going at itright now, if shed let me! Hey that is still a possibility...No,shut up! What am Im thinking shes drunk! If shesnot alert then nothings happening, He finally decided.
"Yes you do." Mya grinned.
"No."
"Yes."
JC realized she was willing to play this gameforever. Hed continue to play his too even if it was a lie."No."
He knew she wasnt going to continue whenshe finally stopped and a frowned graced her face. She wasstaring at him now, intensely, and it seemed all traces ofintoxication had disappeared. What was she thinking?
Mya grabbed him by the face and kissed him. Shemoved her lips over his with pressure, but she had no idea whatshe was doing. She just wanted to kiss him for the main fact thathe said he didnt want to kiss her, when she knew he did.
JC, however, couldnt get enough her, running his fingers, under the shirt she wore, over her bare back,up her legs, across her waist, and in her soft mane. Wherever hishands went, he was never disappointed.
He loved the feeling of her fingers massagingthe nape of his neck, pulling him closer. The sweet taste ofpineapple and strawberry with a hint of rum on her slightlytrembling lips as he increased the pressure of the kiss. But thequestion if she was enjoying it as much as he was hung in the air.Yet, when she pushed herself up to get closer to him he got hisanswer and had to break away, resting his face against her neck, where his lips slightly grazed.
A breath rushed from Mya as her chest heaved."I told you," She paused, gasping for air. "...youwanted to kiss me." She grinned, biting down on her lip.
The word seduction was written repeatedlyacross her face, he reread it a few times and JC wondered if shewas just playing a game on him. Sure she was drunk, but she wasno stupid drunk. She didnt allow four drinks to takeadvantage of her mind completely, did she? Did she not know shewas kissing him and he was gladly kissing her back? If so, was hetaking advantage of her too?
JC pushed the roaming thoughts to the back ofhis mind, secured them there, and grabbed for her again beforeshe or he had time to fully catch their breath.
Mya giggled, now sitting in his lap. "NowJC, one kiss is enough." She smiled against his lips. "Youcant take advantage of me like this."
JC sighed. Why did she have to be right?"I know Ms. Harrison." His voice was filled withdisappointment as he pecked her on the forehead.
Mya yawned, stretching her arms above her head."Im tired now."
"No youre not." He didntwant her to fall asleep on him, not now. They were just beginningto make some progress.
"I am so." Her head fell to hisshoulder and he didnt hear another word out of her, onlysoft breathing.
JC brushed her long hair away from her face andher eyes were closed now. JC knew then that she had passed out, would probably wake up, and never remember what occurred thenight before. Damn, I guess its for the best. JCdecided.
JC stood up with her limp frame in his arms. Hewrapped her smooth legs around his waist and carried upstairs, where he would put her in one of the guestroom, preferably onecloser to his.
